Help yourself to lovely fresh herbs from the garden

Relax with a cool drink or a coffee on wide verandahs that catch the river breezes, and enjoy the ambience of our fragrant and colourful garden.

Its old-world feel and cottage informality invite you to sit in the shade of the huge old frangipani with a book.Blooming this month.. gardenia  Gardenias release their heady scent into the warm air in spring and summer, and in late winter a fine old magnolia bursts into bloom.

Other fragrant shrubs include port wine magnolia, osmanthus, rosemary, and newly-planted jasmine, brunfelsia (Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow), heliotrope and violet.

The herb garden has been renewed and you are welcome to pick them to enhance your favourite recipes during your stay.

Extensive new plantings of agapanthus echo the city’s famous jacaranda haze at festival time in October/November - and, of course, we have a jacaranda tree.

A rose garden is being established, and the main garden beds will be continually added to, keeping Blooms blooming.
